out of order: Art Class Unscripted

My kids are natural artists. I always liked art. So does C. However, neither of us are actual painters or sketch artists., even though we both believe in natural expression of art and appreciate it. Therefore, art is important to us and we feel the children should be exposed to it.

Today, after church, we had an art lesson. Art lessons in our house is usually an unschooling thing. I provided materials--paint, canvases, string and tissue paper--and told the children to create. I do demonstrate an example to give them an idea of what to do.

At first I tried to put paint into a spray bottle but it didn't work. Therefore, I actually stenciled my work on. C made the spray bottle paint thicker. G and E enjoyed spraying the paint onto the tissue paper canvas. E glues yard onto his canvas. The work came out pretty nice. Now, we have 5 wonderful pieces of artwork to hang on our walls. And we had a fun Sunday afternoon.
