Letting Go

The hardest part of homeschooling is letting go of the idea of what childhood should be like. As a child, I went to school for 6-8 hours a day. We went to the after school dances, had art shows, science fairs, etc. These are my happy memories. But, I also was ridiculed, punched and bullied on the playground. I had carefree after school times, but I don't have a specific talent or anything that go me a scholarship or pulled me into a part time job other than a toy store or fast food place. And, I didn't want my children to have my childhood. But the hardest part is letting go of what I know.
